Earlier, he topped in his Surgery post graduate exam. (M.S. Gen. Surg.) from India's premier medical institute, PGI Chandigarh in 1981. The institute has the reputation of imparting BEST surgical training in India.

He has performed hundreds of successful Minimally access and conventional open Gastrointestinal surgeries including surgery of Liver, Gall bladder and Pancreas.
